Our Story

Why We Started Basingstoke Surveyor

It started with a conversation that kept happening. Client after client told us the same thing: "The report arrived but I didn't understand half of it." We decided to do something about that.

Basingstoke Surveyor was founded because we saw a gap in the market โ€” not for another surveying firm, but for one that genuinely put clients first. Too many property buyers in Basingstoke and across Hampshire were receiving dense, jargon-filled reports that left them more confused than when they started.

So we built something different. A team of qualified, experienced local surveyors who combine RICS, CIOB and RPSA accreditation with a genuine commitment to being approachable, clear and human. We're not a national call centre. We're local people who care about Basingstoke property and the people buying it.

James has over 15 years of surveying experience across Basingstoke and Hampshire. He set up Basingstoke Surveyor with a simple mission: make property surveys genuinely useful for the people buying homes.

James specialises in RICS Level 3 building surveys and full structural surveys for period and unusual properties.
